Hinge is one of those apps that people either love or hate. And while I don’t personally use it, I’ve heard some pretty interesting things about it. For example, according to Business Insider, Hinge is actually the most downloaded dating app in the world. So why isn’t everyone talking about it? Well, maybe it’s because it’s the exact opposite of Tinder. Instead of swiping left or right based on looks, Hinge lets you swipe up or down based on personality.
The basic premise behind the app is simple: you answer a bunch of questions about yourself on midget dating sites and then choose whether or not you’d like to meet someone else who shares similar interests. If you’re interested, you’ll receive a notification letting you know that you’re both compatible, and a few days later, you’ll be able to set up a date.
Is It Different To Other Apps?
The main difference between Hinge and other dating apps is that you won’t see everything. Instead, you’ll see just enough information to determine whether or not you’re a match. But what makes Hinge stand out is the fact that it doesn’t require you to upload a picture. Instead, you simply answer a handful of questions about yourself. In addition to that, you can add a couple of hashtags to help narrow down potential matches.
Once you find someone who seems like a good fit, you can start chatting via text through hookup chat rooms. Unlike many other dating apps, however, Hinge doesn’t allow you to send unsolicited messages. Instead, you have to wait for the person to initiate contact. Once that happens, you can talk about anything from politics to movies to books. You can even follow each other on Instagram if you want.
According to Business Insider, Hingees tend to fall into one of two categories: people who are looking for friends and people who are looking for romance.
If you’re looking for friendship, you can easily filter out anyone who isn’t willing to take the same approach on find fuck buddy. However, if you’re looking for something romantic, you might have to put up with a lot of weirdos.
While Hinge does seem like a great idea, it’s still very much in beta mode. As such, there are bound to be bugs and issues. There are also no guarantees that you’ll end up liking someone you met online.
But hey, at least you get to delete the app once you’re done.
